Vert-X provided the structural design and basic architectural details for a 250 m² rotary dairy shed at Rongotea, completed in 2025 with builder RBE (Rural Building and Engineering). Dairy sheds are small but not simple with multiple floor levels, rotary platform mechanisms to support, large wall openings that limited the bracing, regular washdown, and a requirement to keep birds from nesting - always on a tight budget. We designed it around steel RHS (rectangular hollow section) portal frames with purlins, girts, and flat braces, over precast concrete panels with insulated panel walls above, and a cantilevered canopy. The shed is now operational.
