Vert-X provided the architectural design and structural engineering for a new cold storage facility in Feilding, completed in 2024 - 1,200 m² of chiller and freezer, an 1,100 m² drystore, a drive-through truck loading canopy, and siteworks, built for an established operation. Working with builder TPS NZ under ECI (early contractor involvement), we supported the project from concept through to completion, on a tight budget utilising several construction methodologies  - an insulated panel freezer / chiller envelope combined with adjacent steel structures, detailing requirements for freezer construction, and a link-way back to the existing building. We matched the structure to each part of the building: steel portal frames with light wall construction to the drystore, and insulated panel construction with minimal structural steel to the chiller and freezer. The facility is now operational.
