Vert-X provided the seismic strengthening design for a warehouse on Kaimanawa Street in Palmerston North - strengthened to 80% NBS (New Building Standard) at Importance Level 2, completed in April 2026 with builder Colspec. Brought on to find the best way to strengthen the building, we consulted with our wider network of engineers and settled on a deliberately simple scheme: most of the work prefabricated offsite and bolted into place, the existing roofing used to provide bracing, and no new foundations. The result was a smooth build for the contractors and a successful outcome for the client.
