Vert-X provided the connection design for a liquid natural gas (LNG) pipeline project with an overall value of around US$18 million, completed in 2015. Employed on the contractor side, we designed the steel connections for the industrial pipeline bridges, platforms and pipework supports that carry the line and its access structure. Vert-X carried out the design to the relevant Australian steel design codes. The wider job brought together consultant and construction teams from around the world; we worked directly with the shop detailers, steel fabricators and project management teams delivering the structural steel.

Vert-X designed around 20,000 connections over 15 months to meet a construction programme that couldn't slip. To ensure delivery on time, we built in-house systems that let us generate and check the connection designs in a reliable and repeatable way rather than case by case, with QA/QC procedures sized to match the scale of the project.
